Story of Gong Mei:

Gongmei, which translates to "tribute eyebrow," refers to the shape of the leaves, resembling an eyebrow. It is made using both buds and larger leaves of the tea plant. Gongmei tea has a history dating back to the Qing Dynasty when it was considered a tribute tea for the emperor. Though it contains not as many buds as White Peony, its delicate flavour profile and subtle sweetness make it a popular choice among white tea enthusiasts.

Ingredients: 100% loose tea leaves. 

Year: Spring Harvest, 2020

No Artificial Flavors, Colors or Preservatives.

Brewing Instructions

Western brewing:
Use 1.5g of tea per 250ml teapot with 85-90°C (185-194°F) water. Steep for 3 minutes per infusion, allowing up to 3 infusions.

Gongfu brewing:
Use 5g of tea per 150ml gaiwan or teapot. Pre-warm the vessel. Brew with 95°C (203°F) water, and steep for 40 seconds for the first 3 infusions, adding 10 seconds from the fourth brew onwards. Enjoy up to 6 infusions. Ideal for long-time steeping and particularly refreshing in spring and summer.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place away from light and moisture.

A teapot, my new best buddy

Got this beautiful tea pot for my birthday - with soul, personality and brilliant functionality - I very much recommend this teapot! Very soothing

I'd never thought to combine Puerh with lavender, but this makes for a very soothing flavour combination. The calming lavender and earthy puerh feels very 'Tasmanian'. I'm looking forward to trying more teas here.
